Reality Check UK Music

Reality Check were formed in September 2009, originally with only three members: Peter Stiles (guitar), C.J (bass) and Elliott Ingham (drums). We started off going to the 'Live in the Valley' practices in the Beulah Baptist Church hall on Friday evenings and it was a good laugh, but, we realized that even though we had started playing music we hadn't thought it through much, we had no singer and none of us could sing! We played without for a few more weeks and we eventually found one. Elinor Adie. We decided to try her out on one Friday, and it was brilliant, she was totally awesome, so we put together our first song as a band that day. At this point our name was still "Hollies Magik Glasses", we all agreed it was a shit name and we changed it to Reality Check. Soon After we changed our name we invited a new member into the band, a new guitarist they call Sam Dixon! He plays rhythm guitar and he likes milk and dinosaurs. We then had our first real gig at the De-La Warr Pavilion at Access All Areas (AAA) We also recorded our first music video as a band with the BBC but it was deemed useless when we realised they hadn't mic-ed up the guitar amps so there are only drums and vocals on the video. BBC, you suck. We then went on to play the Black And White Christmas Party (also at the De-La Warr) which was a laugh. When 2010 started we really got stuck in with organising new material for the band and sorting out logos and stuff, and we decided it was time to get a small demo done. We contacted Ian Barnet and agreed on a date to record our demo. After we recorded we sent off our signature song "Reality Check" to Hastings Rock Radio and Heart FM and hopefully we will be hearing it live on air soon :) We were also informed we definitely had a slot at the Black Horse Festival, which was a big deal to all of us, but recently we have sadly been informed the festival has been cancelled due to problems with grumpy people not liking decent music. Bad news for all of the young bands but shit happens. We have recently started gigging in and around hastings, playing at venues including The tubman pub and The william parker phoenix arts centre, and have attracted a lot of attention from our lively yet professional performances.
